{"name":"ACPHAC Digital Ecosystem","short_name":"ACPHAC Digital Ecosystem","description":"AFRICAN CENTRE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH ACTION & CLIMATE RESILIENCE (ACPHAC)\n\nWhat We Do\n\nThe African Centre for Public Health Action & Climate Resilience (ACPHAC) is a public health action, research, advocacy, and capacity-building organization committed to improving health outcomes and strengthening community resilience to climate change across Africa.\n\nWe bridge the gap between public health knowledge and practical action by working with communities, health professionals, students, researchers, governments, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.\n\nOur work focuses on:\n\n- Public Health Action: Turning evidence and research into practical interventions that address priority health challenges.\n- Climate & Health: Addressing the health effects of climate change, including heat, flooding, changing disease patterns, food insecurity, and environmental health risks.\n- Research & Evidence: Supporting epidemiological research, surveillance, data analysis, knowledge generation, and evidence-informed decision-making.\n- Health Advocacy: Training and mobilizing advocates to influence policies, promote health equity, and increase public awareness.\n- Community Engagement: Working directly with communities to identify health challenges and develop locally appropriate solutions.\n- Capacity Building: Providing courses, training, mentorship, workshops, and professional development opportunities for health workers, students, researchers, and community leaders.\n- Health Promotion & Disease Prevention: Promoting healthy behaviours and strengthening prevention of communicable and noncommunicable diseases.\n- Youth & Student Development: Creating opportunities for students and young professionals to gain practical experience in public health, research, advocacy, and community service.\n- Partnerships: Building collaborations among government, academia, communities, NGOs, professional bodies, and development organizations.\n- Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning: Measuring the reach, effectiveness, and sustainability of public health and climate-health interventions.\n\n---\n\nWhy We Are Here\n\nAfrica is facing a changing health landscape. Climate change is increasing pressure on already vulnerable communities and health systems, while infectious diseases, noncommunicable diseases, maternal and child health challenges, environmental risks, and health inequalities continue to affect millions of people.\n\nACPHAC exists because knowledge alone is not enough. Action is needed.\n\nWe are here to:\n\nTurn evidence into action.\nTurn communities into partners.\nTurn young people into leaders.\nTurn advocacy into policy change.\nAnd turn climate challenges into opportunities for stronger, more resilient health systems.\n\nOur goal is to contribute to an Africa where communities are better prepared for climate-related health threats, people have access to reliable health information and preventive services, public health professionals are equipped with practical skills, and decisions are guided by evidence.\n\nOur Vision\n\nA healthier, more resilient and climate-ready Africa where every community has the capacity to protect and improve its health.\n\nOur Mission\n\nTo advance public health through evidence-based action, climate-health resilience, research, advocacy, education, community engagement, and strategic partnerships across Africa.\n\nOur Approach\n\nResearch → Evidence → Advocacy → Action → Community Impact\n\nWe believe sustainable public health improvement happens when evidence, people, policy, innovation, and community action work together.","icons":[{"src":"https://media.base44.com/images/public/6a8ef378c0abf4ce232bb1f6/698c62b40_logo.jpg","sizes":"192x192","type":"image/jpeg"},{"src":"https://media.base44.com/images/public/6a8ef378c0abf4ce232bb1f6/698c62b40_logo.jpg","sizes":"512x512","type":"image/jpeg"}],"start_url":"https://acphac-digital-ecosystem.org","display":"standalone","theme_color":"#000000","background_color":"#ffffff","scope":"https://acphac-digital-ecosystem.org"}
